My classroom response window
I allow up to 72 hours during school days for non-urgent ParentSquare messages. A thoughtful response may require time to review information or speak with staff.
FAMILY COMMUNICATION
ParentSquare keeps routine classroom questions and school updates in one place. These guidelines explain Mr. Acevedo’s classroom communication practices, when families can expect a response from him, and who can help fastest when a matter is urgent.
The response window and availability listed below are Mr. Acevedo’s classroom practices. They are not an MPS districtwide response-time policy. Official school procedures still apply to urgent, attendance, transportation, dismissal, safety, and administrative matters.
MR. ACEVEDO’S CONTRACT HOURS
I read and respond to ParentSquare messages during my contract hours as teaching responsibilities allow. I do not work or respond to classroom messages outside of these hours. Under my classroom communication practice, please allow up to 72 hours during school days for a response.
I allow up to 72 hours during school days for non-urgent ParentSquare messages. A thoughtful response may require time to review information or speak with staff.
I do not work or respond before 7:10 AM or after 2:20 PM. A message may be sent at any time, but I will review it during a future contract-hours communication window.
I do not respond after 2:20 PM, on weekends, holidays, or school breaks. Those periods do not count toward my classroom’s 72-hour response window.
During the school day, my attention belongs to students. I may be teaching, supporting a small group, supervising children, or handling a classroom need. Protecting instructional time helps me give children safe, focused support—and allows me to give family messages the attention they deserve when I respond.

BEST FOR NON-URGENT CLASSROOM QUESTIONS

QUICK CLARIFICATIONS
Under Mr. Acevedo’s classroom communication practice, it will be reviewed during a future contract-hours communication window as teaching responsibilities allow. Time outside contract hours, weekends, holidays, and school breaks is excluded. This is a classroom practice, not an MPS districtwide response-time policy.
No. For student safety, call the school office so the change can be confirmed and shared with the appropriate staff.
The classroom phone can interrupt instruction, and I am usually working directly with students. The office can receive urgent information and make sure it reaches the correct person.
